Visual Arts

The all-volunteer Visual Arts Committee has a variety of responsibilities for the appearance of our church home. These include:

  • Sunday Morning Floral Arrangements: Each display is hand-crafted by a volunteer. Contributions in honor of special events or special people are always welcome to help defray the costs.

  • Seasonal Decorations: A special decor is created for the holiday season and for other important events in the church year.

  • Exhibitions: A series of displays of original art is presented in the social hall (lower level). Artists are chosen competitively, and each display is shown for about six weeks.

Anyone is welcome to participate in the activities of the committee. Contact the church office at (612) 825-1701 for more information.

Art Exhibits

First Universalist has a long tradition of exhibiting original work by regional artists. Art work is displayed in the gallery located in the church social hall. In some, but not all cases, items are available for purchase.  Often additional items are for sale during the artists’ receptions.  For further information about an exhibit contact Bette DeMars at jbdemars@aol.com or 952-929-2536(H) or 612-991-3657(C).
