Project Homeless Connect
First Universalist Church is a regular contributor of trained volunteers to Project Homeless Connect, which offers help at the Convention Center to our area's homeless. The next session is May 14, 2012, with shifts beginning at 9am and ending at either 2pm or 4pm.
WHAT IS PROJECT HOMELESS CONNECT?
Project Homeless Connect is a one-stop shop to help our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness connect with services they need. Several times a year, Hennepin County and the city of Minneapolis partner with service providers, businesses, citizens, and faith communities to bring multiple resources to the Minneapolis Convention Center including housing providers, employment specialists, medical care, mental health care, veterans benefits specialists, eye doctors, haircuts, and food.
First Universalist has sent as many as 70 volunteers in past sessions.
