Who We Are

Our church, its ministers, and its members have nourished the flame of liberal religion in Minneapolis for more than 150 years. We are numbered among the foremost Unitarian-Universalist congregations in the United States. We invite others of free faith and open mind to join us on our journey.

Our denomination: First Universalist is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association and of the Prairie Star District. We were honored in 2011 for being among the congregations with the greatest numerical growth during the 2010-2011 year.

We Welcome Visitors:  If you're visiting our church for the first time or the fiftieth - Welcome! For more information that might interest you - click here.

The Sunday Service: The times and speaker for the coming Sunday are always listed on our home page. During the regular church year our services are at 9:30am and 11:15am. During the summer we have a single service at 10:00am.

Our Membership: First Universalist is a welcoming congregation that draws strength from people of all racial, ethnic and national backgrounds, of all sexual orientations, and of a wide range of abilities.

Families: Our vibrant Children, Youth & Family Ministries provide a spiritual home to hundreds of families. We offer support and inspiration to parents; opportunities for families to worship and serve the broader community together; and religious education classes for over 500 children and youth each Sunday.

Our Ministers: Rev. Justin Schroeder, Senior Minister and
Rev. Jen Crow, Minister of Program Life.
