Welcome To Our Church
Our church, its ministers, and its members have nourished the flame of liberal religion in Minneapolis for more than 150 years. We are numbered among the foremost Unitarian-Universalist congregations in the United States. We invite others of free faith and open mind to join us on our journey.
Here are some directions and other helpful information
when you visit us.
Our Congregants: First Universalist is a welcoming congregation that draws strength from people of all racial, ethnic and national backgrounds, of all sexual orientations, and of a wide range of abilities.
Our Sunday Service: During the regular church year our services are at 9:30am and 11:15am on Sundays; from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend our services are at 10am.
Families: Our vibrant Childrem, Youth & Family Ministries provide a spiritual home to hundreds of families. We offer support and inspiration to parents; opportunities for families to worship and serve the broader community together; and religious education classes to nearly 500 registered children and youth.
To Learn More: Read our newsletter The Liberal online, or pick up a recent copy at The Information Center in our Social Hall on Sunday. You can also listen to the podcasts of our sermons and get a sample of what Sunday Service is like. But without being there and letting the music and song enfold youSubscribe to our weekly e-news by contacting Sandy@firstuniv.org.
Our Denomination: First Universalist is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association and of the Prairie Star District. We were honored in 2011 for being among the congregations with the greatest numerical growth during the 2010-2011 year.
